The book \u003cstrong\u003e\"Born to Run\"\u003c\/strong\u003e by \u003cstrong\u003eChristopher McDougall\u003c\/strong\u003e gave many in the world their first deep glimpse of these people and their amazing running skills and their distinctive footwear, the simple huarache sandals.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eUpon my return, I started experimenting with \u003cstrong\u003emaking my own\u003c\/strong\u003e simple sandals using the huarache as my launching point. By 2007, I had returned to the Copper Canyons to see if I could complete the 50 mile course in my own sandals. \u003cstrong\u003eMy success launched a footwear revolution\u003c\/strong\u003e. The \"barefoot shoe\" craze began and many jumped on the bandwagon.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eLUNA Sandals is the outcome of all that experimenting and fun.
